PESHAWAR: The Tribal Union of Journalists (TUJ) has asked the authorities concerned to provide them bullet-proof jackets and Shuhada Package for their members keeping in view the tough security conditions in which they were working. The decision was taken at the first meeting of the newly elected office-bearers of the union presided by its President Safdar Dawar.

All the elected office-bearers, including general secretary Akmal Khan Qadri, attended the meeting. The meeting also decided to prepare an action plan for a Fata media colony and a central office for the union. It pledged to use all available sources for the welfare of the journalists in Fata.

The members were asked to submit required information to the Tribal Union of Journalists for the proposed life insurance schemes for the reporters in the tribal areas by March 10.
